Hi Everyone!
What a great time last night! It was so much fun catching up and seeing everyone. Great Thanks to Sue Johnson and Andy Cleff! You both did a great job!
One problem...I don't think we should wait until the 6oth to go to Andy Simpson's island paradise...bathing suits are hard to find when you are almost 80 years old! Plus...we'd get nasty burns!I'm suggesting this February, what do you think Andy?
So anyway, until next time...live,love laugh and have fun!

WHAT A GREAT TIME LAST NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a blast seeing everyone and getting caught-up on all of the stories of how our lives have changed since graduation. Everybody looked fantastic - not bad for 30 years, eh? Also seeing my old home room teacher (Mr. Loring) was an unexpected pleasant surprise - what a cool guy.

Kudo's go to Sue and Andy for pulling this off - you guys did a terrific job with both the event planning and the website design. I can't wait until our next reunion!!

Question - does anyone know if any of the photo's taken last night will be posted somewhere on this site?

Great to see everyone last night, and missed everyone who couldn't make it. It was so much fun to just hang out and get goofy with old friends!

I will post the photos I took on my classmate profile for lack of knowing where else to place them. I'm sorry that I didn't get everyone's pic, but I tried to get as many as possible. Some didn't turn out due to flash-glare off of the name cards we were wearing!

To everyone traveling home, have a safe trip.
To Sue and Andy, thank you for a job well done.

Wow! Sorry I missed it! Thanks Dennis for the call..I'm sure everyone had a great time. Meg, Trip was a trip huh? I went to his house one day after school, there must of been 20 kids there... sandwiches and drinks in the kitchen ... the whole neighborhood was there...Ok anyway... here is another blast from the past... how about ..was it "Julie Gaynor" , or how about Micheal Keenly? Any wareabouts?

Andy Cleff - any chance you can place an additional "PICTURES" tab so folks can upload their pictures directly to it? Thanks

I have had the biggest smile plastered on my face since last night! I had a very long, traffic- filled drive back to Virginia today, but it gave me a chance to savor every bit of last night! I am only sorry I didn't talk to so many of you. I barely stopped talking as it was, and I know after talking to Sue Demmerly today that she talked to people I didn't see, and vice versa! Add my name to the list thanking Sue and Andy and anyone else who helped put it all together! I am all for a trip to Andy's for another reunion, and the sooner the better! With love and thanks, Shavaun

To Sue and Andy,

Thank you so very much for all of the hard work to make our 30th a reality! What a special night it was. A bunch of middle aged people who you don't know walk in a room and are instantly transformed into some of the best friends you ever had. It doesn't get much better than that. How much richer our lives would be if we all made an effort to recultivate some of these old relationships into vibrant active friendships. I'm all for meeting up again this summer!

Thank you Sue for calling me - It was such a great surprise to be able to go at the last minute. You did a fanstastic job organizing a wonderful evening.

I agree with Jeanette. I would love to have another chance to see everyone and hopefully track down some of our missing classmates. I propose that we have one big Class of '78 turns 50 birthday Celebration. I would help!

It was so great seeing everyone again.

It was great to see everyone at the reunion the other night. Thanks so much to Andy and Sue for all of their hard work. Now that many of us have our own children in high school, I think it helps us to look back and appreciate how very fortunate we were to have spent our high school years in such a terrific place. Until next time..... good health and happy days to all of you!

I add my kudos to Andy C, Susan and Andy S (making the ultimate sacrifice - wink, wink). I had a great time. As I mentioned to many - never made it to a school dance, so I got to make up for it Friday night.

I hate to brag, but what the hey, we've become an awesome group of people. It was great to see you all and be seen. I was impressed by the compassion and kindness I saw and felt Friday and look forward to being with all of you again.

I need to cut loose a little more often. We've lived up to the school motto, Carpe Diem, but I guess it was Carpe Nox instead. Those who missed the party, I hope you can come next time.

I like the idea of Andy's and hate to point this out, but this might not be the year for it with the economy in its current state. Perhaps a good location for that 50th birthday party that's suggested? Adequate time for planning and saving for us working stiffs. Maybe I could even lose enough weight to look not so horrifying in a bathing suit (I'll never be svelte, but even a size less would be a help! - need to keep dancing and dancing and dancing).

Saturday tour at MHS. We had a few of us (small, but elite) show up at 1 o'clock. The good part of being so few, the custodian available to us let us sneak into the library and the band room (which were locked). Shhh, don't tell anyone.

The library (now the media center of course) has changed a great deal. We did not see many books in the main room, at least half the space is devoted to PC stations. However, the space has been expanded back for some books. This was my home away from home in high school. As we left the area there was a picture of an unidentified older woman. I think it was the librarian back in our day - anyone remember her name? (Jeopardy theme here.)

About half the first floor old A hallway is converted into computer classrooms and a computer lab. There's a Security office, now 3 vice principals, and the principal's office is moved across and down the hall in the old Guidance office. We went through the new A hallway built to ADA regs with wider halls, shorter, wider lockers, elevators, etc.

The new athletic center (about 1.5 years old) is quite impressive. The weight room looks awesome, and for those who have not heard, there are two gyms, not one. The older wooden floored gym (ours) is used by the girls and brought back a lot of memories for me (not pleasant for this couch potato). The newer state of the art, impact resistance floor gym is for the boys --- WHATEVER HAPPENED TO TITLE IX AND EQUALITY FOR GIRLS!!! Sorry. I've gotten off my soap box.

The tennis courts were in full use and boys and girls basketball practice was finished while we were there. We decided not to hit all the halls, just few highlights. We wondered how kids manage to get from one end of the building to another between classes. I don't think they allow inline skates or scooters. I did notice in the new gym some of the tan and blue gym mats I remember from 30 years ago. Some things have not changed.

Sorry you missed it if you wanted to be there, but I understand that the majority did not. When I told my niece, the freshman, where I had been earlier, her response was, "I'm sorry for you" and then "Why?" Spoken like a true high school student. Signing off for now.

Anyone remember when they came out with the new and improved onesy blue and red striped gym suits that were absolutely beyond hideous? I refused to wear mine and stuck with the rocking yellow dress instead. Then there was the shower ritual which was disturbing on just about every level. A gym teacher actually stood at the shower entrance with a clip board making sure we did a mandatory jump on the athletes foot device and more importantly... didn't sneak any illegal clothing into the shower room under our towel. Not the most optimal place for modesty.

Jenette that is hilarious about the gym suits.. how crazy was that??? I have laughed so much reading these posts. I had forgotten alot of it. I think we were one of the first classes to have co-ed gym... i remember some wild square dancing and gymnastics and some really dangerous lacrosse and hockey with the boys whacking away at us.

I've had several requests for names to be placed under the photos from folks not able to make the reunion. Hopefully I was able to get most of them correct! Sorry for any errors.

Peggy, we missed you. Hope to see you at the next reunion!

Christine, thanks for the "visual-imagery" tour of MHS.

The field hockey got ugly because the guys swung their sticks around like baseball bats.. I think the gym teachers were really freaked out by the whole thing.

We used to put Lynn Holbreich in as goalie for soccer because nobody would dare go near her high-flying leg kicks, especially the guys. One time she kicked Andy Mouacdie in the wrong spot and he rolled on the ground for several minutes. She felt sooo bad, but I'm sure Andy felt worse!

That is so funny! Lynn was really limber!!! I remember her doing some wicked splits!

Lynn lives in Las Vegas now with her husband Ed and beautiful daughter Amanda . She has remained one of my dearest friends. Hoping she finds her way back to the east coast some day.

Tell Lynn to post a pic! She had the most awesome hair ever.. it was down to her butt!

Thanks so much Sue and Andy and everyone who made this even possible. It was so much fun! and tremendous to see everyone!

Thanks also for those who brought up middle school and elementary school memories - that's where most of my recollections remain. How about JB and Kirk bringing those 4th grade yearbooks made in Mrs. Cunningham's class?? (I'm still trying to find a classmate who recalls Mrs. Hauser's heart attack in 3rd grade).

Take care, enjoy your holidays and your families, and stay in touch.

Hey, send your photos up to photobucket.com

I've emailed everyone the username and password so we can use the same central account.

What a blast! Great to see all of you and chat for a brief while.

I can't add much to what Chris Pestridge wrote about our walk through; The small, elite group referred to was Chris, my wife, Mary, my son, Steven and myself. Chris and I brought the magic with us and that made the event; my boy and my wife were caught up in the spell we two enchanters wove as we lured them through the halls of our precious keep. Chris and I looked into our freshman homeroom b-225 now, a-225; Miss Jerrold. David Reed, Lacey phelps, Greg Phillips, Heather Raymer, Robin Odence, Danny O'Oonnell, B A Nutter, Brendan O'Connor, to name a few. The many times I looked out that window into the hallway I never thought of a 49 year old man standing at the door looking back 30 years....enough of spells. Jill, I missed you; your kids and my kid, a next generation....thing. Well, you did warn me; maybe next time; it doen't have to be 5 more years I hope.
