Meg Mcilvaine (Kendrick)

Lisa, remember walking to a party at Shavaun's house singing "rubberband man" the whole walk?
Also a moment to remember Carolyn a good friend to all.

Brendan,
I do remember Mr Maddox's class. He was deaf in one ear, so when someone spoke from the right side of the class, he would always turn left, or vice versa. I don't remember the banana reference, however.

Meg, I always remember Susan's boyfriend as being Bobby Sherman.

Martha,

Forgive me for asking as I have not been to a reunion in a very long time. Who is Dip and Carolyn? Having not been in the area I have lost touch of what friends/classmates we have lost over the years. I only know of Joel.

Please do not blame yourself for tragic events in life. I went through this with a very close friend in life years ago. At the end of the day no matter how much we try to control life or might blame ourselves it is really out of our control.

Be well and I look forward to seeing you and our other classmates in a few weeks.

Hey, Kevin! I'm probably way to realistic even now. Do you ever hear from Ralph Gregorio? You were neighbors as I remember. I remember you as the "heart throb" of most of the girls in "D" house in 8th grade.

Meg, I'd forgotten about Alice Cooper! Yuck! Then Danny posts about me being crazy about Bobby Sherman (a few years earlier I might mention) Talk about polar opposites! What was I thinking?! I guess my musical tastes (if you could call them tastes) were all over the place. We did have fun though. Remember that band that would come to the YAC that played mostly David Bowie music? The main guy even tried to look like him. Good memories.

Meg, I'll always remember singing Rubber Band Man! We were always singing...Beach Boys, Diana Ross, Bruce. Funny thing, my 12 year old was singing Rubber Band Man the other day in the car and I have no idea how he knows it.

Dave, Dip was Tim McChesney. He died in a car accident in 1979 (I think). Carolyn (Majane) disappeared in 1975 or 1976. They found her remains around ten years later. It was an extremely tragic event the lives of us that knew them. The police drilled us with questions about Carolyn's disappearance and suspected everyone from family members to the pizza guys at Cavellos (next to the YAC). The police took my only yearbook for photos and never gave it back. Carolyn and Dip live on in our memories.

Lisa,

Thanks. I do not remember either of these people but I am sure they were great people. I am sorry to have asked.

It has been a long time since I last saw you. If I recall correctly it was at Cooper Hospital when I was doing my residency (probably around 1987 or 1988). I think you were doing your nursing school. Hope all is well with you and yours. See you in a couple of weeks. Be well.

Darn Dan O'D,
I was sitting talking to you in Maddox' class, we were laughing about 30,00 thousand pounds of bannanas. Being part Italian... I gesticulated vigorously with my hand and ended up smashing a huge plate glass window!

Gafaw! I had completely forgotten about that! I've got to share with you the image of Brendan O'Conner that's burned in my brain. Any time I think of you, I envision football practice on a very rainy afternoon, and you kneeling at the line of scrimmage, covered from head to foot in mud. Practices in the rain seemed to be your favorite sort, because you would seek out the deepest, muddiest puddles in the field and then run and slide head first through them. The picture of your goofy grin with ooze dripping from your facemask is indellible in my memory.

Well..the coaches seemed to ignore my raw talent..hahahahaha...so why not make lemonade?....

Thanks Sue;
Thanks Kevin;

Clyde remembered. He said he wouldn't forget it; and I'm glad he said something, it gave me a chance to address his thought. The point is, if Clyde remembered maybe some one else remembered and who knows what they felt or feel. We had a good sized class after all, many souls, many hues. I don't know if they will react exactly the way Clyde did, that's just it; I don't know; so I tried to cover all bases. I should have come to the earlier reunions, if for no other reason than to put the matter to rest; better late than never. I won't speak of it again. One more time; Sue, Kevin, Clyde: thank you. I wish I could see you. Maybe another time.

Yeah, Sue Berner, now that you mention it I guess we did stay with our own groups, I mean I thought you had gotten transfered to another school; I lost you in the shuffle from Middle to High school; realy, I never saw you there.

Alright Brandon,
Too many parties to remember back then. But I do remember that party I think it was that one. Although the graduation party was the last memory. Well you are not do far north of us. Love the southern living. We've been south for 19 years or so. Are you still active duty, or retired at this point? My husband and I were active duty when we met, and my oldest is a lifer at this point. I you get to Myrtle Beach, let me know.

Eric/John,

What day are you hanging at Memorial Field? 3 PM? I am doing Turkey night with the wife's family out at McGuire Air Force Base (Wrightstown). By Friday I will need a reprieve. Was going to go to the Bird's game on Turkey Day but I am so damn frustrated with them after Cinci I am taking a pass and my nieces are using my tix.

John; Dave,David or Reed is just fine. I am still the same guy that hung out at Lenola School with you, Russ Hartmann, Steve Marrett, Kevin Berry, Dan O'Donnell, Chuckie Briggs and everyone else. Its a title that means little in life. As you can see from below I enjoyed being called son much more than doctor. Would trade that title in a heart beat to spend a little more time with my Pop.

Miss my Dad. He was not too great of a football coach (in fact he really did not know what the heck he was doing but he tried). He was my best friend. Lisa, was at Cooper Hospital when I was there for 3 years during part of my training (87-90). I did a ton of intensive care rotations and cardiology rotations. It was so strange last Labor Day weekend 2007 when I had to watch my Dad pass away in the Intensive Care Unit where I had done my training. Lots of nurses I had not seen in 20 years trying to comfort me and my family. I did everything I could and at the end of the day I could do absolutely nothing except say goodbye. It has been a rough last year for me.

At the end of the day I have done a terrible job of keeping up with friends whether from high school, college, grad school, medical school or my professional life. With that in mind I would not change a thing as I simply got to hang out with my Dad, fishing Florida. I waited my whole life to see an Eagle's championship with him and just never happened. I look forward to seeing you all. I am so pleased to see everyone's families and the happiness in the pictures and profiles. Enjoy them to the fullest.

Sounds like an OBX reunion may be called for in the future.

I really am loving all the responses. It is bringing back alot of memeories. David I lost my father over 18 years ago, it is really hard, no matter how long ago. Our parents had such an influence on our lifes no matter how much we rejected them. Wish I was going to be at the reunion, looking forward to future ones, consider a summer reunion. Luanne

Yo Brendon,

Gig Harbor is indeed beautiful! As you can see from my profile, I've lived in CA, TX, FL, and now WA...with a wife from Trinidad and Tobago. Married 23 years. This place is easily the best of the areas we've lived. The weather kinda sucks....OK....it really sucks at times, but the people and the views are one of a kind. We get to Moorestown every couple of years. My wife's family is in Trinidad and Orlando, with a brother in Charleston, SC so it makes holidays interesting!
SUE B...... I see Ralph Gregorio whenever we are in Moorestown. His parents still live next door to my Mom, who still lives on Snyder Place. Steve Musto and Jim (James) Troutman live out this way as well. Steve and I have played phone tag recently, thanks to this site, and I owe him the next call. As it gets closer to the reunion, my angst about not being there is growing! As far as me being the "D" house "crush".....I damn wish I knew that then!! LOL I've talked with a few classmates over the years...Chris Wood, John Gandolfo, Morris Yankell, but family schedules take over and it's years gone by before ya know it! I am going to Vegas this Friday thru Monday with my wife. my Mom is here to stay with the kids, so if anyone happens to be heading thata way! Call me!!

Dave,
Sorry to hear of your dad's passing. I lost my dad 9 years ago and still miss him tremendously. Hang in there.

I remember your residency at "the Coop". Gosh, we were so young back then. I loved working at that hospital. Many of my former co-worker/friends are still there.

Dave-
You have my deepest condolences-I lost my Dad four years ago-He was the kindest most decent man that I have ever known and I've known quite a few. Time makes it easier to deal with-Hang in there-Hey-He raised one helluva son!
