Christine, I remember when you worked at Cooper. I would often pass you on my way to lunch (my favorite time of day). Your sister worked there too as I recall.

John, Jennifer Lord lived up the street from me in Haddonfield. You will be happy to know that she hasn't changed a bit. She was teaching nursery school where my boys attended before we moved to PA. She is kind and beautiful from the inside out.

Kevin Walters, Yo neighbor, long time-no see! My mom still lives in the same house, and yes, Clayton is right up the street although I haven't seen him for a while. I saw Mrs. Gregorio around a year or two ago, she is doing well. What ever happened to "Boob" (Dave Bubeck)? I saw him many, many years ago when he shared a condo with Meg in Margate. He was working at a casino and having a good ole time.

Bob, I am really sad to here about Joe Heiser. He was a great teacher in Calculus. I really enjoyed the math teachers in general (Kerr, Rogers Heiser). Besides Mrs. Johnson in 4th grade Miss Rogers probably had the greatest impact on my life of any teacher.

Kevin Berry & rest of Lenola School alum I had Mrs. Johnson at my medical school graduation party at the Fire Hall. Was an unbelieveable & frankly pretty wild party. The dress code was mandatory Hawaiian. Will not go into the reasoning for that in this forum. She hung in there the entire evening and enjoyed some of our special beverages. At times I felt a bit frightened as she was exposed to a wide array of characters that evening. I actually said a few words about her at the party about her being an inspiration. I was so sad to hear from my family when she passed. She was a great woman and one heckuva teacher and role model.

John, I am getting in on Thanksgiving afternoon. That day is obviously shot. I could do Friday or Saturday but do you really think someone is going to take an hour or two to show us around MHS on a long holiday weekend? If they do we need to give them a donation for their efforts. Hey, would not go out of your way unless there is vast interest. Just hearing your stories of the changes will be enough. Now what I would really like to see but impossible is the old Lenola School.

Dave remember all the girls crying the last day of school in 4th grade? Ms. Johnson was so cool..
So sorry to hear about your dad... I remember him being real nice. Guess they still have lil league football practice across from Lenola school. Remember Jane Farace's mom coming to school all made up. How sneaking over to 7-11 during recess? of course I was the only one to get caught.

Ron Lewis, Brian Keenly, Vicki Epolite, Tom Clark, Maria Pergross(sp?), Rickey Gunther, Wayne Milligan, Russ Hartman, Peter Romano, Cathy Barrow, Peggy Hartman, Nancy Dell, Chucky Briggs, Leon Amer, Billy Bowers, sHezzz what a elementary class. I heard Robert McMullen is not with us anymore, or Joey Vindicen (sp?) who I think was a grade ahead of us but I remember him setting off M-80’s around the playground.
Pat McMullen and my Bother, and Pat Mernam (sp?) were best of friends. Pat's family had like a lil farm w/ a pet pig...well when it turned Hog, Pat was Sad because it was Bacon Bacon Bacon!!! LOL

Hi Everyone!I must say that this site has been really great. It's fun to hear the stories and memories everyone has. I have to admit, I wasn't going to come to the reunion at first. High school was more awkward teenage angst than party times for me and I wasn't sure if I wanted to relive that! I guess what's great now is that as we all collectively start to reach the half century milestone in age, we've pretty much fully become the people we are. I found that the great thing about turning 40 is you care less about what people think and more about what matters in life- friends and family. This website really showed that as everyone has shared how much losing a loved one has affected their life. My heart goes out to those of you who have lost a parent or parents. John, I am so sorry to hear of your son-that is a devastating blow that I can't even begin to fathom. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion-and please, keep the stories coming! Thanks

Bob McMullin married Lisa Crissy from my little sisters class. Lisa and Jennie were best friends when they were young, so Lisa still visits Mom around the Christmas holidays. Bob would be happy to know that he has beautiful grandchild about five years old. Or is it ten or twelve years old. Damn, you really lose track of those things at our age.

Craig Lord has a construction business. He worked on some renovations at my sister's. He built an early building for MEND (ecumenical group for subsidized housing), where my grandmother lived for her last couple years at Pearl and Zelley (east side).

For Dave, Craig's company, I believe, also renovated Lenola School for MEND. It is now Lenola School Apartments. Anyone can enter the lobby, but would need a resident or someone with their key to let you into the side hallways where the apartments are. My mom happens to live there, so guess who can get you into the rest of the hallways? When my mother moved in, my sister Carol kept pointing out where different places were. She said Mom was first in the office, but I recall bathrooms being there, possibly faculty one(s). We had some problems with the ground floor apartment, so Mom is now on the 3rd floor, I believe in Mrs. Johnson's old classroom (will check with Carol). They've installed an elevator as well.

When I go to see Mom, I'm "going back to school." At 81, I value those visits.

Eric,
The same year Moorestown had the referendum on sales of alcohol, two other towns had the same one. I live in Pitman, which defeated the bill with a larger margin.

I have no objection to the sale of liquor or the drinking of it, just its use in excess. After all, Moorestown is named for "Moore's Tavern." Once upon a time it was the law of the land. However, I prefer to indulge in chocolate, ice cream, pastry ... I was devastated when Mom told me the Peter Pan Bakery had closed!

Thanks also for the update on Jennifer Lord. She was one of the few tall girls I knew back in school. I was 5'9" by 7th grade. It felt awful lonely up there.

As you can see I still have family in and around the region. I moved the furthest away by 2 measly counties. It's amazing to see how many of you have spread across the US and even England/UK!

For those of you traveling back, welcome home!!!
For those of you who hoped to come, but something came up, you are ever in our hearts. And if any of you get to read this and choose to remain silent, you can see that we're thinking of all of you. I know I've looked at each person at least once. Blessings on you all.

Kevin, You misunderstood me. His Grandchild is ten or twelve. His daughter is about the same age as my oldest, 26.

Kevin, Just read post about Little League across from Lenola school. Havn't been to football games there, but did go to Little League baseball games and softball games for Kevin and Emily Mullin (Carol's kids - she's class of '74). Have passed by soccer practice, so I'm sure there must be football there as well (also the other fields down past the firehouse).

They've built condos behind Lenola School (don't know if you've seen), that used to be woods where the annual Easter egg hunt was held. Winners often had some association with the Carcanagues (another Lenola family).

Don't know if it is him, but I googled Russell Hartman in NJ and found someone who had made a Who's Who in health care. I tried an e-mail to a listed address, but no response.

Wasn't Vicky at the 20 year reunion? I don't remember Jane Farace's mom coming to school all dressed up, but I do remember her helping my mom with her Brownie troop. I'm also wondering about Ron Lewis - his mom was involved with my Junior Scout troop one year, and into my sister Cathy's years (class of '80).

Also to those homeschooling moms I noted - my sister Cathy has homeschooled her three, and the eldest is now in college, started taking classes at BCC last year, while still technically in high school. In this local region there is quite a network of homeschoolers, they get together at Memorial Field for soccer, softball and such as part of the PE requirements of the State.

Danny,
Wow 26 your kidding me... I'm thinking I just turned 30!! LOL
Christine I bet Russell is still around Moorestown, seems I remember running into someone in his family 5/6 years ago... but my memory is fading...short term memory anyway LOL

I didn't know Mr. Heiser died. Damn it, ouch. When I was in Mullin's class the year before I couldn't convert a decimal into a percentage; the next year with Heiser the light went on. I started doing trig....for fun.

I'll see if that Saturday is possible, Dave; you're rght though, a gratuity would be appropriate, if enough of us can make it.

you might have noticed that I'm a romantic. I remember Jennifer bursting into her mother's class room a few times, a cherub in pig tails, those eyes even then made me step back. There was the time during our eighth grade year when the high school had it's annual fair and Jennifer was one of two or three girls in charge of a haunted-storeroom....thing; my brother and a couple of friends got in line and we saw right away that her short fuse was already blazing and going fast because the kids ahead of us were being kids and wide awake at that. The line started to add up bhehind us, most of them saw how Jennifer was getting so why not bait her further? She blew her top and decided it was time to create a height requirement: short people get in. She gave up shouting, got realy cool, looked down the line, locked on me, at the time shorter than my younger-by-thirteen-months brother who was ahead of me. I was watching her of course, so when her eyes hit me I quit breathing; she saw that I was a small, dumbfounded kid staring and not squeaking at her. she stepped over and actually grabbed me by the shoulders, took me out of line and put my back to the wall, my brother shouted "Johnny, don't let her do that!" I thought; are you kidding? she barely turned enough to holler "Quiet!" He got louder, then our friends and that part of the line; her friends were becoming alarmed, she leaned toward me and said "Don't move." The masking tape they used to put the haunted whatever sign up with was still on the desk they had, she went over and picked it up. My brother and our two friends grabbeed me and started taking me back. I didn't realy want to be with them any more by now but I couldn't realy think of a way to tell them. Jennifer had just turned back and thoroghly lost it, strode over, glared them back, put me against the wall and put a piece of tape on the wall even with me; one of her friends had panicked and was on her way back with a teacher. Jennifer had time to say "Any one taller than this is barred from this room.!" The kids laughed. The teacher said something like get back in ine son and took the fuming Jennifer aside. One of our friends ripped the tape off the wall and we went in before Jennifer was finnished with her conferrence.

Hey John,

Is Dennis Haynes an assistant principal in the Moorestown School system? Perhaps he can be our guide through the past and the present. Since he updated his profile has not been on the message board. Will try to contact him.

Be well.

Christine,

The Lewis family (parents) relocated to Largo Florida (about 15 miles from me). My mom and dad visited them a few years ago. I know their daughter Mary was in Kentucky and I believe Dan moved back to Moorestown. I am not sure on Ron. They lived across the street from me. Hey in looking at the profiles I see that Nancy Schuster actually moved into the home right next to my childhood home. Loved that area for growing up with the woods, the athletic fields, etc. I drive by the old homestead every time I am in town.

I heard the perfect song for next Friday on the way in to work, "Let the Good Times Roll" from the The Cars. Can't wait.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but was Ron Lewis the guy who was an amazingly talented artist? I think it was him. Very impressive work at an incredibly young age.

That was him. Check out some of his work in our Senior Year Book.

Guys, the football game sounds great but instead of a bloody mary cocktail I have another suggestion, for any bumps, bruises either to the body or the psycee how does a hot tub, fire pit, beer on draft and a few games of pool all of which I have available here at home. I know after a muddy Moorestown football game (my son and some of the team would come back and veg in the hottub) is very relaxing. We can order Pizza and wings too!!!

I have to say I'm laughing right now and pretty impressed with myself to still remember alot of this stuff!

Kevin...I so remember Mr. Johnson's DODA...he was a crack up. He reminded me of George Carlin. Speaking of comedians...I remember going to see Steve Martin at the old Latin Casino---with Stephanie Allen, Jenn Swaim (who unfortunately passed away, and Diana Schulman) - that was when "king tut" was big!!! ---Um...why did I just think of that? Actually it was probably because Tony Bennett was on the Today show talking about his performances at the Latin Casino! - Which eventually became a fun rock club called Emerald City!

Anyone remember the canoe trips Mr. Dibase and I think it was, Mr. Topin -- they took us up to upstate NY in the back of his pickup truck.. What were our parents thinking to let us go??...Sue Wilkins and Vicki Bovoso...Sue Seely...Connie...that was a hoot. Remember the gollywonkers, wangdoodles and snolly gosters they told us about?

Clyde - glad you called last Saturday...It was so much fun to catch up and hear about all your exciting plans! -Yes... when you're in FL let's get together --

And John Nardelli...if Martha Rexon needs help with a reunion I would definitely feel honored to help out especially if we're doing anything annually - It is a shame that when we get to town we can't somehow hook up with old friends...John you have also inspired me to pull out the yearbook and read what everyone wrote...(I think I should have done that awhile ago anyway...but now that it's a week away it'll be fun!)

Kevin...glad to hear Keith's around...he should hook up with my brother Scott...their reunion is the same night as ours at the field club. Wasn't he in his class too?

What's the plan for next week...anything going on Wed night...Sat or whenever...?

Hi Everyone! This site is really neat to have. I've been spending hours reading everyone's post. WOW, a lot has happenned in 30 years! Lot's of good memories too.
Dave I too send my condolences and to everyone else that has lost a loved one.
John, losing a baby, that's really a tragedy! So sorry to hear that. We lost our 1st baby girl as she was stillborn. I know how difficult that was. But to lose a baby at 8 mos of age, I cannot fatham that!
I have unfortunately lost both my parents. My dad died 15 years ago at only 70 yrs old and my mom died 5 years ago at age 78. We still have big family get togethers as I come from a family of six kids and I have 1 niece and 8 nephews ranging from 5 to 25 yrs old.
I would Love to tour Ol'Moorestown High. Since we sold my parents home on N. Riding Dr, I don't get back there much but every so often I ride through town to check things out.
Looking forward to our reunion next week!

Well, thank you, Eric and Martha, for the kind, yet subtle compliments toward my dear wife. Please, no one mention when you meet her next week that I posted a bikini shot. She'll kill me. What's worse, she'll make me delete it.
Yes, I did paint the two portraits I posted. Its odd to find out what one is capable of doing if they try. Never even considered painting as a hobby until I was over 40. It was just after my second divorce, and I needed some way pass the time in my empty house. My first attempt surprised everyone, mostly me.
Last night I made one of the concessions a man has to make when he marries someone who was born during our senior year. I went to the Madona concert. I'm not a fan of her music, but man, what a production! Interacting on this web site made me think back to the "light shows" and "pyrotechnics" that used to impress us at the old spectrum, back in the day. That stuff was downright primitive compared to what they do today! Tonight, it's her concession. We're seeing Chaz Palmetiri doing his one man "A Bronx Tale". I hope she's not too bored.
